aaah wow!!! This is soooo amazing!! There's no end to your talent!! It's so perfect, Mr Shackleton is such a fab character!!
I was going to say this is AWESOME, but everyone beat me too it! ... but it is still awesome. : )
You can never go wrong with a penguin sportin' a monocle. I say, Eric, he is a dapper fellow! Wonderful, respectable, recycled (awesome) piece of art that is sure to grace one's home. Awesome!
GREAT!!! absolutely awesome!
This Is FRESH on so many levels!
An excellent way of recycling. Very fun as well showing us the process. Nobody would say at first!hahaha
Holy mackerel - I'm blown away! Just incredible :) Is the white coat just paint or is it some other kinda medium? Looks like you've smoothed out the ribbed base of the bulb?
Thanks so much everyone! Bee, I used an all-surface spray primer to coat the bulb and the base, and then followed that up with a light coat of gesso to give it some tooth. The metal stem is hidden by the iceberg base.
Oh oh oh... wonderful Erik! I love Mr. Shackleton to begin with, but this brings him to a whole new level. The piece of ice he is standing on, I want to pick it up and eat it. It looks so refreshing. haha - I hope we see more of these sculptures. So much fun! :D
wow! this is so cool, eric! It totally brings your wonderful character to life!
Wonderful - such creativity Eric! Mr Shackleton comes alive!
Wow! This is fantastic. Saw this post title on my blog and couldn't click fast enough to get over here to see it:)
Wow! This is so creative and fricken adorable! Is that a pipe I see? Too awesome!
GET.OUT.Are you for REAL? Oh my GOSH, this is beyond awesome! The city officials here don't know it yet, but SOMEbody is going to be climbing a lot of street lamps soon and sending you more bulbs!
Fantastic and creative!Love it!
Ahh! You've discovered Monsieur's little world..thanks Eric! Glad you've come along for the ride. I hope to post more of his adventures soon. Take good care and thanks!
You are super and multitalented brother Eric!
really really cool! brilliant example of using scraps and turning them into something so beautiful, love mr shackelton (now in 3D!)
Wow! That is so cool Eric! You are full of surprises! Your creativity goes waaaay beyond the confines of pencil, paper and computer screen. I'm sure Mr. Shackleton is a great dancer. He's "light" on his feet!
FAN-tastic piece Eric!
Oh man, I WANT! Does he light up as well?
The bulb was fried when I got it, so I took all the 'guts' out of it. It's a street lamp bulb, so that thing could've really lit up a room! Felt kind of like a myth buster taking that thing apart...
Oh oh (speechless), meaning completely love it! :-)
absolutely brilliant! get it? :D
Thanks for your visit and comment,Oh, you are so creative, Love Mr Shackleton!!, great job.Ale.

Sweet fellow with a cute monocle :)
ADORABLE !! I WANT THIS RIGHT AWAY:)
SUPERB BIRD! what more can I say. It's almost a shame the bulb gets covered up, I like knowing that's underneath, somehow seems to add to his charm and mystery. I loved Mr S in his chaffeured car, really great to see he's back!
Wow, fantastic! Never an old bulb was used so lovely :)
